- New Jawa scrambler spotted testing
- Based on Forty-Two
- Gets different tyres, seat
Classic Legends is working on a scrambler version of the Forty Two. A fully camouflaged test mule was spotted on test near company’s R&D facility in Pune.
From the pictures, it is clear that the company has retained the major design lines of Forty Two but has also managed to add a bit of scrambler elements. Things like dual purpose tyres, fork gaiters, off-road seat and exposed tail section can be seen on the bike. Other cycle parts like the wheels, suspension, front mudguard, fuel tank, rear view mirrors are identical to the ones seen on the Forty Two.
The engine layout and cover also resembles the Forty Two. So we can expect this motor to churn out the same power output of 27bhp and 27Nm of peak torque as the Forty Two. The gearbox is likely to be borrowed from its classic sibling.
We can expect this bike to make its India debut in the next few months, maybe, just before the festive season kicks in. In terms of pricing, this scrambler is bound to be priced a bit higher than the Forty Two.
