- Classic Legends launches BS6 Jawa Standard and Forty Two
- Price hike ranges between Rs 5,000-9,928
- Besides revisions on the engine, both bikes remain unchanged in all aspects
With the BS6 deadline just a month away, Classic Legends has launched the BS6 models of the Jawa Standard and Forty Two. The prices of both bikes have witnessed a hike ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,928. Now, while the Jawa Standard starts at Rs 1,73,164, the Forty Two’s most affordable trim costs Rs 1,60,300. For a more detailed pricing structure, the old and new prices (ex-showroom) of both Jawas are mentioned below.
Although Classic Legends hasn’t revealed the accurate power figures for the BS6 Jawas, it has stated that they are similar to the BS4 models. For reference, the BS4 Standard and Forty Two churn out 27bhp and 28Nm from their 293cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine which comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. As the engine was already fuel-injected, the hike in prices is due to the inclusion of a larger catalytic converter and for rationalization of prices across colour variants.
Classic Legends had also launched the bobber-styled motorcycle, the Jawa Perak, in December last year. The 334cc powerplant of the Perak was already BS6-complaint at the time of its launch which is a larger version of the aforementioned 293cc motor. Being the flagship model in the company’s portfolio, the Perak costs Rs 1.94 lakhs (ex-showroom).
