- Ninja 1000SX gets styling tweaks
- Updated electronics and features
- Likely to be introduced in India later next year
Kawasaki has taken the wraps off its newly updated Ninja 1000 at the 2019 EICMA. It also receives a name change and is now called the Ninja 1000SX.
The motorcycle was always focused towards touring but with the new updates, the Ninja 1000 is now a complete sports tourer. For starters, the bike rider and pillion seats have been redesigned for added comfort. Then there is the four-way adjustable windscreen. Interested buyers can also opt for a taller windscreen that is offered as an accessory. Kawasaki has also updated the Ninja 1000’s electronics suite with a cruise control as standard along with the traction control and riding modes.
All of the rider aids are controlled via the new 10.9cm full-colour TFT screen that is Bluetooth enabled and connects to the rider’s phone through the Kawasaki Rideology app. The manufacturer has also retuned the 1043cc , inline-four cylinder engine to reduce running noise and emissions.
On the external, the Ninja 1000SX sports minor changes to its fascia which has now become sharper and features full LED lighting. The motorcycle also gets a single-sided, single-outlet exhaust instead of the dual exhaust system on the outgoing model. While the bike will be available in international markets by early next year, we can expect it to arrive in India in the latter half of 2020.
