Kawasaki is on a launch spree. After launching the Ninja ZX10RR a few days ago, the company is gearing up to launch their 2017 models.
The Japanese manufacturer didn’t reveal the names of these bikes, but said that they are important models for the company. We believe Kawasaki will launch the new Ninja 650, the new Z650 and the Z800 replacer – the Z900 on March 25. All these models were unveiled on the world arena last year, with the Ninja 650 being the first one at 2016 Intermot, followed by the Z650 and the Z900 at 2016 EICMA.
Just like the outgoing models, Kawasaki will assemble the new Ninja 650 and the Z650 at their Akurdi plant. The Z900 on the other hand, will be sold as a completely-build-up(CBU) unit from Thailand. The interesting bit about the new CKD models is that it will no longer will be sold through Bajaj’s pro-biking showrooms and will be sold through Kawasaki’s exclusive showrooms. So it will be interesting to see the pricing strategy Kawasaki takes for their most awaited models. We believe that Kawasaki might increase the price of these three models marginally.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we bring you more details from the launch event on March 25.
