-Launch expected in October
-Localised parts to keep price competitive
-It is the only twin-cylinder ADV under Rs 5 lakh
The Kawasaki Versys X-300 is expected to go on sale in India in a few weeks. The bike could be launched around the festive season in October. The timing could not be any better for the Japanese manufacturer as it tries to draw customers away from the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure.
To do so, Kawasaki is expected to price the new Versys X-300 quite competitively. They are said to be working on localising parts as far as possible. This should help them keep the price competitive. We will see Kawasaki adopt a strategy similar to what they did with the part localisation of the Ninja 300.
The Versys X-300 is powered by a 296cc, parallel-twin engine, known for its tractability and refinement. It also doesn’t mind being revved and that should make for a sporty Versys X-300. For those curious, the engine makes 39bhp and 26.1Nm and is linked with a six-speed gearbox.
Expect the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 to be priced between Rs 3.6 to Rs 3.9 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
