Kawasaki recently launched its new middle-weight modern-classic roadster, the Z650 RS, in India. The motorcycle is an interesting proposition with modern technology but retro styling. However, with a price tag of Rs 6.65 lakh, there are a few equally enticing alternatives to consider around this price range. Let’s take a look at them.
Kawasaki Ninja 650: Rs 6.61 lakh
In Kawasaki’s own portfolio, fully-faired aficionados can check out the Ninja 650. Although it looks sporty and aggressive, the sitting ergonomics are comfortable enough to be suitable over long distances. Its 649cc, parallel-twin engine is also decently potent with a power output of 67.3bhp and 64Nm. There are nice features too like the full-colour TFT instrument cluster and a slipper clutch.
Honda CB500X: Rs 6.88 lakh
For a 500cc motorcycle, the Honda CB500X is overly priced without a doubt. However, for the Honda fans who are keen on buying a no-nonsense, fuss-free mid-size adventure motorcycle, the CB500X makes a strong case. With a smooth and punchy engine, neutral handling, plush ride quality and great levels of comfort, the CB500X has all the qualities of being a fun, leisure as well as an everyday motorcycle.
Triumph Trident 660: Rs 6.95 lakh
We have not only ridden the Triumph Trident 660 on public roads but also on the racetrack during our 2021 track day. And it only left us wowed in every riding condition. The power delivery from its 80bhp, 660cc, triple-cylinder engine is creamy, clean and excitingly quick. Furthermore, the handling dynamics are equally impressive. Even the features and hardware are nothing short of premium. And with compact dimensions, the Trident has all the ingredients of being a great first big bike.
