- Likely to get a bigger 1,150cc engine.
- Cosmetic updates and upgrade in electronics package.
- Expected to be revealed in 2019.
The updated KTM 1090 Adventure has been spotted testing near the manufacturer’s plant in Austria.
While the design of the bike is similar to the current model, it appears to get revised fairings that incorporate additional fuel pods. These pods not only increase the range but also lower the center of gravity of the motorcycle for better balance. The bike gets a larger and adjustable windscreen and will also benefit from a full-LED headlamp setup and a full-colour TFT display.
The current version uses a 1050cc, LC8 V-twin engine that produces 123bhp. Meanwhile, the new KTM 1090 Adventure is expected to be powered by a bigger 1150cc engine with clearly higher power output. KTM is likely to upgrade the electronics package of the bike with lean-sensitive traction control and cornering ABS. It will also come equipped with KTM’s adaptive cruise control radar.
KTM is most likely to reveal the production version of the new 1090 Adventure for global markets only next year. However, it is not expected to arrive on our shores anytime in the near future.
