KTM unveiled the updated, 2022 390 Adventure for international markets a couple of months ago. The brand later went on to list the motorcycle on its Indian website, hinting at its imminent launch which is likely to happen this month. So before the 2022 KTM 390 Adventure arrives in India, we tell you everything you need to know about it.
New colours
KTM has kept the 390 ADV’s styling unchanged, as it continues with a split-LED headlamp, short windscreen, split-seats and a side-slung exhaust canister. However, to keep things fresh, KTM has added new colours to the 2022 390 Adventure’s palette. This includes orange with blue- a combination that first showed up on the 1290 Super Duke R- and orange with grey that looks similar to the black/orange scheme on the previous 250 Adventure. That said, we can expect both paint schemes to be offered on the India-spec version.
Updated electronics
The KTM 390 Adventure was probably the only motorcycle in and around its price that came with a traction control system. Although basic, KTM have tweaked the system on the 2022 model. Now, it sports two levels- Off Road and Street for more versatility in loose or wet terrain. Moreover, the Off-Road traction control has also been revised to remain activated if the bike stalls. Other than this, the rest of the electronics package inclusive of a colour-TFT screen with connectivity and lean-sensitive ABS remain the same.
Improved hardware
The 2022 KTM 390 Adventure’s fitments haven’t changed on paper. It retains the upside down forks with adjustability (Indian-spec likely to continue with non-adjustable units) and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Even the braking hardware is the same. That said, even the 19/17-inch alloy wheel combo is the same, although, KTM claims to have improved the robustness of the wheels. This could have been done to address the concerns of certain customers who’d want to take their 390 ADV for proper off-road riding.
No changes to engine
The 2022 390 Adventure continues to come powered by a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 42.3bhp at 9,000rpm and 37Nm at 7,000rpm. It also gets the quickshifter as standard and will continue to do so on the Indian model as well.
Expected price
Shipments of the 2022 KTM 390 Adventure has already began arriving at Indian dealerships. And hence, the launch isn’t too far away. We expect the adventure-touring motorcycle to carry a price tag higher than the current model that retails at Rs 3.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
