KTM has launched the new 390 Duke at Rs 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This new Duke has been joined by the facelifted 200 Duke and the new-for-India 250 Duke.
The 390 Duke has always been known for its aggressive styling and high performance. The 2017 version takes the game to a whole new level. The bike borrows its overall design from its eldest sibling – the 1290 Super Duke.
The new 390 is built around a trellis frame that is now half orange, half white, with the 373cc single-cylinder engine as a stressed member. There has been no change in power output, however, the engine on the new Duke is now Euro IV compliant, thanks to the inclusion of a three-way catalytic converter and a new exhaust pipe. The motor generates 44bhp and 35Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch. It promises to be smoother thanks to the ride-by-wire throttle technology now on it.
The 390 Duke rides on WP 43mm inverted front forks and rear monoshock. The front 320mm brake disc is larger than the previous model to offer better braking power. Switchable ABS is standard. It also gets adjustable clutch and brake levers, and an all-LED headlamp setup.
The KTM 390 Duke is available only in one colour - orange. The bookings for this streetfighter have begun at all Bajaj Probiking showrooms with deliveries expected to begin from April.
