A heavily camouflaged 2017 KTM Duke test mule has been spotted in Pune. With our sources suggesting that KTM will be launching three motorcycles on February 23, this could be the newest addition to KTM’s Indian line-up – the 250 Duke.
The test mule sports KTM’s new design philosophy with a sharper headlamp and edgier bodywork. The instrument cluster though, is similar to the current generation 200 Duke and the 390 Duke. It gets a WP suspension setup comprising of inverted front forks and a rear monoshock and a ByBre brake setup.
As the 2017 390 Duke gets several technological updates, we can expect a Rs 20,000 hike in price. The new 200 Duke on the other hand is expected to get only a facelift with new paint schemes and decals. While the 250 Duke was exclusively meant for Indonesia and Thailand, KTM could possibly want to fill the price void between the new 200 Duke and the 390 Duke.
The 250 Duke is powered by a 248.8cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which makes 31bhp and 24Nm of torque. In case it is launched here, we can expect the 250 Duke to retail at around Rs 1.9 lakh, sharing the market space with the likes of the Mahindra Mojo, Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Benelli TNT25.
