- New RC390 launch in March
- Issues with semi-conductors supply
- May get marginal price hike
KTM India will launch the 2022 model of the RC390 sometime next month. The launch was earlier planned for January-February but has been pushed to March.
The delay in launch is due to the shortage of semi-conductors. We also spoke with a few dealers who confirmed the same. However, the company has been teasing the launch of the RC390 on its social media channels for a days now.
For 2022 year, the RC390 gets a host of major changes. The styling is brand new and the fascia now sports a new design language. The updated design brings a single-pod headlight to the front as against the projector-style units on the old model. The front fascia also features fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors and an updated turn indicator setup. Other updates include a sharper fairing design, a 13.7-litre fuel tank, a redesigned tail section and a side-slung exhaust.
The bike continues to get its power from a 373cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This engine gets a bigger airbox and new engine mapping. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox that features a slipper clutch mechanism. The standard feature list on the India-spec KTM RC 390 will most likely include full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display, switchable ABS, a lean-angle sensitive cornering ABS, cornering traction control, and the Quickshifter+.
We are expecting a marginal price hike over the old model. So expect an ex-showroom price of around Rs 2.78 lakh.
