- Available in five colours
- Gets lower top speed, shorter range than Pro version
- Priced at Rs 99,999
Ola Electric has announced the launch of the new S1 electric scooter in the Indian market. This new version of the electric scooter sits under the Pro variant and features relatively lower-specs.
The colour palette, too, is smaller than the Pro version and this base model of the S1 series will be sold in five colours – Porcelain White, Jet Black, Neo Mint, Coral Glam, and Liquid Silver. In comparison, the Pro variant is available in 11 paint themes. While the colour palette is shorter than the Pro version, the styling is similar on both variants. Thus, the new Ola S1 continues to feature a twin-pod LED headlight with an LED DRL at the front, apron-mounted front turn indicators, curvy body panels, a body-coloured front fender, and a single-piece seat.
In terms of performance, the top speed of the base model is capped at 95kmph while the 0-40kmph acceleration takes 3.8 seconds. The range, too, is shorter than the S1 Pro and this version of the electric scooter delivers 141km (ARAI certified) per charge in the Eco mode. Further, the base model also misses the performance-oriented Hyper mode and cruise control system.
The new Ola S1 has been launched in the Indian market at an introductory price tag of Rs 99,999 which is valid for a limited number of units. The company has commenced the reservations to the early access of the Ola S1 for Rs 499 only and the pan-India deliveries are scheduled to commence on 7 September, 2022.
