The Bajaj Pulsar 200SS has been photographed completely undisguised, in a blue-white livery. While previous reports had suggested that Bajaj is planning to offer fuel-injection in the Pulsar 200SS, DTS-i written on the wall behind the motorcycle in these latest photographs indicate that the Pulsar 200SS will retain a carburettor.
This latest photograph also quashes the myth that the Pulsar 200SS will get an ABS as standard, as this specific model didn’t feature the ABS ring in the front disc brake. Mechanically, the Pulsar 200SS will be identical to the Pulsar 200NS and will feature the same 199.5cc single-cylinder engine. This engine delivers 23bhp and 18Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission.
The Pulsar 200SS’ elder sibling, the Pulsar 400SS, was first showcased in India at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The Pulsar 200SS has been spotted testing on several occasions, and has already been unveiled in Turkey and Cambodia. Speaking to MoneyControl, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, the head honcho of Bajaj Auto, recently revealed that the company is planning to launch the Pulsar 200SS within the next three months. Over the years, the Pulsar motorcycles have been growing bigger and more powerful, catering to a wider range of customers. The Pulsar 200SS and Pulsar 400SS are crucial motorcycles for the Pune-based manufacturer and will play an important role in the company’s global expansion.
