TVS Motor Company has expanded the Raider 125 range with the launch of the Connected variant. This new version of the 125cc motorcycle sits on top of the list and benefits from the company’s SmartXonnect Bluetooth module and voice assist function. Here we list the top five highlights from the India launch of the Raider 125 Connected version.
New features
The Connected version, as mentioned earlier, gets SmartXonnect Bluetooth module that brings access to features such as turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call alerts, and music controls. Further, the voice assist function is also part of the package and it comes with voice commands that can be used for various functions, such as for navigation or changing the ride modes. Other features similar to the other variants include an LED headlight with integrated DRL, LED taillight, a five-inch TFT display, idle stop-start system, two ride modes (Eco and Power), and first-in-segment under-seat storage.
Styling
The styling cues remain identical to the drum and the disc brake versions. Thus, the Connected version includes a modern design for the headlight, body-coloured headlight cowl, body-coloured front fender, split-style saddle, aluminium grab rail, and an engine cowl. This 125cc sporty commuter motorcycle is available in four options – Striking Red, Blazing Blue, Wicked Black, and Fiery Yellow. The Connected variant, however, is only available in Wicked Black and Fiery Yellow paint options.
Engine and Performance
The mechanical specifications retain the BS6-compliant 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve engine. This motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox and it produces 11.2bhp at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. TVS Motor Company claims a 0-60kmph acceleration time of 5.9 seconds while the top speed is rated at 99kmph.
Hardware
The suspension setup continues to use telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. Meanwhile, the anchoring hardware on the Connected variant comprises a petal-type disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the back while the safety net includes combined braking system.
Price
The Connected variant is the most expensive model in the Raider 125 series and it has been priced at Rs 99,990 onwards. In comparison, the drum and disc brake versions are priced at Rs 85,973 and Rs 93,489, respectively.
