- New Royal Enfield Classic 350 to be launched in India soon
- Spotted testing undisguised
- Will be powered by same engine as Meteor 350
Royal Enfield has been spotted testing the new Classic 350. While it has been spotted before, this time, the motorcycle was undisguised and looked production-ready.
The new Classic 350 is built on the underpinnings of the Meteor 350 and uses a double-cradle frame instead of the single downtube on the current model. Moreover, it will also come powered by the heavily-revised ‘J-platform’ 349cc engine which also does duty on the Meteor 350 and produces 20.2bhp of power and 24Nm of peak torque. . And as our experience with the latter, we can expect the Classic 350 to be refined and have a decent cruising speed. The spy video also reveals that the new Royal Enfield Classic 350 sounds similar to the Meteor 350.
Apart from the new engine and frame, the new Classic 350 will also get new features an updated instrument cluster that will have an analogue speedometer with a small digital unit underneath. Royal Enfield is also expected to equip the Classic with the Tripper navigation system. Going by the previous spy images we also know that the upcoming Classic 350 gets revised seat cushioning for the rider and pillion seats. Furthermore, the motorcycle also gets an updated switchgear and handlebar grips that are similar to the Meteor 350.
Royal Enfield has also worked on the design of the new Classic 350 while keeping the silhouette of the current generation. So the new model gets a round tail lamp while the headlamp houses an LED DRL. Now, we can expect the new Royal Enfield Classic 350 to make its debut sometime in early 2021 priced slightly lower than the Meteor 350.
