- Royal Enfield Classic 350 India launch scheduled on 1 September
- Updated model will use the company’s J Platform
- Likely to carry a price premium over its predecessor
Royal Enfield has confirmed that the new Classic 350 will be launched in the Indian market on 1 September, 2021. The latest iteration of the motorcycle will pack several mechanical upgrades and new features over the outgoing model.
The motorcycle was spotted on several occasions through spy images and videos. The new Classic 350 will feature very few styling upgrades over the old motorcycle. Thus, it will continue to feature a round headlight at the front, a curvy design, and split-style seat. The new model, however, will benefit from new paint options, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and rotary-style switches similar to the Meteor 350.
The new model will also benefit from the company’s ‘J’ platform that we have already seen on the Meteor 350. Linked to a five-speed transmission, the 349cc, air and oil-cooled engine is tuned to produce 20.2bhp of maximum power and 27Nm of peak torque in the Meteor 350. We expect to see similar power and torque output numbers on the Classic 350.
The updated model should carry a price premium over the outgoing version’s Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom) tag.
