New Royal Enfield Classic spied testing once again

- Was equipped with touring accessories

- Gets subtle cosmetic changes

- Likely to feature upgraded engine compliant with upcoming emission norms

The Royal Enfield Classic motorcycle was spotted on test in India yet again. The bike was previously spied towards the end of last month. However, this time it seems to be equipped with a few touring accessories which indicate that the company might be testing to see how the bike performs with the additional equipment. 

The accessories mounted on the motorcycle are officially offered by Royal Enfield. As can be seen in the pictures, it carries a pair of soft panniers with the straps clung on to the seat and wrapped around the pillion back rest. Speaking of the back rest, these are the same units which come fitted on the standard Thunderbird motorcycles. Moreover, a tall windscreen was also integrated on the spied mule. 

The other noticeable changes on the new Classic model include the cylindrical tail lamp section with chrome bezel, a new comfier-looking seat unit, flat foot pegs and a slightly tweaked exhaust. Moreover, the disc brake is also on the right side while the filter box appears to have been reworked on. Besides these changes, Royal Enfield is also expected to upgrade the engine of its motorcycles in order to make them compliant with the BS VI emission norms which will be effective from April 2020. 

The Chennai-based bikemaker has been witnessing dwindling sales for a few months now. Upgrading the line-up might help the manufacturer boost the demand of its products. That said, it is yet to be determined when Royal Enfield will introduce the refreshed versions of its motorcycles.
