Royal Enfield has launched the new Himalayan in India with a starting price of Rs 1.86 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The new Himalayan is available in three new colour schemes- Gravel Grey, Rock Red and Lake Blue along with the Snow White, Granite Black and Sleet Grey colours from the earlier model. The manufacturer has priced the Sleet Grey and Granite Grey at Rs 1.89 lakhs while the dual-tone Rock Red and Lake Blue paints cost Rs 1.91 lakhs. (All prices, ex-showroom)
It also gets new features like a switchable ABS which turns off the ABS to the rear wheel and a hazard light switch. Royal Enfield has also equipped the motorcycle with a revised side stand. The manufacturer hasn’t revealed details of the motor as yet, but it will continue with a 411cc, single-cylinder engine that is now BS6-compliant. We can expect it to churn out lesser power in comparison to the BS4 model although the torque figures are likely to remain the same.
In terms of cycle parts, the Himalayan retains the 21-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel shod with dual-sport rubber. Suspension and braking hardware also remain unchanged on the motorcycle. Royal Enfield is also offering a 3-year warranty with the new Himalayan. Bookings have commenced in dealerships across and deliveries are expected to begin in the next couple of weeks.
