- Royal Enfield Scram 411 launch tomorrow, 15 March
- Based on Himalayan
- Will be priced around Rs 2 lakh
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is finally set to be launched in India tomorrow, 15 March. While it is based on the Himalayan, the Scram is a slightly different, scrambler take on the former.
That said, it shares most of its underpinnings with the Himalayan, so the tank, side panels, and fenders are similar. However, the Scram 411 skips the secondary fender and the tall windscreen as well as the wraparound frame. And instead sports a headlamp cowl for a neater finish, a plate on the side of the fuel tank with ‘411’ plastered on it. The split seats on the Himalayan have made way for a single-piece seat. Adding to that, the Scram will also sport a smaller front wheel, resulting in a lower seat height.
Powering the Royal Enfield Scram 411 is the same 411cc, single-cylinder engine as the Himalayan. While the figures are expected to be the same figures as the off-road version which offers- 24.3bhp and 32Nm, we expect the Scram to offer a slightly different feel. As for features, we expect it to get the same list as the Himalayan with conventional lighting, Tripper Navigation and dual-channel ABS.
Well, since the Scram 411 seems like it will be positioned lower than the Himalayan, we can expect a price tag to match. While the Himalayan starts at Rs 2.14 lakh, Royal Enfield is expected to price the Scram 411 from Rs 2 lakh onwards. This would also put it in contention with the Yezdi Scrambler.
