- New teaser shows several styling elements
- Likely to be available in three variants
- To be unveiled on 8 November, 2022
Royal Enfield has released another teaser image of its upcoming motorcycle, the Super Meteor 650 ahead of its unveiling at the EICMA on 8 November, 2022. This teaser image gives a glimpse at several details of this upcoming motorcycle. The tail end, for example, shows a round stop light along with low-placed turn indicators. It also shows the twin-sided exhaust canister, chrome badges on the fuel tank, round rear-view mirrors, and flat handlebar.
A closer look also reveals an asymmetrically-mounted instrument cluster along with the Tripper Navigation system. This will most likely be an optional extra. Do note that the motorcycle could be launched in three variants – Astral, Celestial, and Interstellar, wherein the top-spec model may get the Tripper Navigation System as standard.
Apart from the equipment, the three models could be distinguished through their respective colour themes. While the base version is likely to get single-tone paint job, the higher variants may feature dual-tone finish. Further, the mid-spec model could receive a pillion backrest as standard while the top variant will most likely come equipped with a windscreen.
The mechanical specifications would include an Interceptor 650-sourced 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor is tuned to make 47bhp and 51Nm of peak torque on the 650 Twins. We expect to see similar output figures on the upcoming Super Meteor 650. Other hardware on the motorcycle, as revealed by several spy images, includes upside-down front forks, twin rear springs, disc brakes on both ends, and alloy wheels.
Once launched, the new Super Meteor 650 will rival the likes of Kawasaki Vulcan S and Benelli 502c in the Indian market.
