Royal Enfield will update its Indian portfolio with the launch of the Super Meteor 650 in January 2023. In fact, the Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer has also commenced the pre-launch bookings for the motorcycle. Further, the company has also announced the colourways for this cruiser motorcycle that would be sold in our market.
The prices are yet to be announced but we expect the base model to arrive closer to Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) price tag. The prices would vary depending on the variant and the colour option selected. Customers can also customise the motorcycle with several optional accessories.
This cruiser motorcycle, which is based on the same platform as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, will be offered in two variants – Standard and Tourer. The standard version will be available in five colour options – Astral Black, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Grey, and Interstellar Green. Meanwhile, the Super Meteor 650 Tourer will be sold in two paint options – Celestial Red and Celestial Blue.
The mechanical specifications include the same 648cc, parallel-twin motor as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor is tuned to produce 46.2bhp and 52Nm of peak torque on the Super Meteor 650. The new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 will rival the likes of the Kawasaki Vulcan S and the Benelli 502C.
