Royal Enfield has been testing the Thunderbird X extensively and the motorcycle has been spotted again, this time in near production-ready form.
In terms of design, the new Thunderbird X has the same cruiser platform. However, it does get some cosmetic upgrades for a fresher appeal. The most striking is the redesigned rear-end which features a short fender with a round, LED tail lamp mounted on. The turn indicators are fitted below, near the number plate holder. Royal Enfield also seems to have revised the rider and pillion seat along with the seating ergonomics courtesy the new flatter handlebar. The new Thunderbird borrows its blacked-out alloy wheels from the current-gen Thunderbird X. While the suspension is also likely to remain the same, The bike’s final drive is now shifted to the left side whereas the disc brake is on the right.
While engine details are yet to be confirmed, the new Royal Enfield Thunderbird X models will continue to be sold in the 349cc and 499cc variant options although with adjustments to make it BS-VI compliant. We expect Royal Enfield to introduce the new Thunderbird X series early next year along with the new Classic models.
