- The scooter could be updated with ADAS
- Likely to be rolled for the S1 Pro
- Currently in the testing phase
Ola Electric CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal has teased a new probable update for the S1 electric scooter. The recent tweet is of a video that shows a dash cam mounted on the left mirror mount. It has revealed a few details about the update and here’s what we think it could be.
The dash cam screen shows ‘OpenADAS’ near the left top corner and ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance System. Right below it is the ‘nearest distance’ reading which is likely calculating the vehicle's distance ahead using a sensor. It’s also tracking the scooter’s speed simultaneously and with all these parameters in tandem, Ola could enhance the cruise control system.
In its current version, the Ola S1 Pro’s cruise control only maintains the set speed until it’s turned off. But with the new update, the said feature could potentially mitigate the pace as per the traffic ahead. However, this is speculation from the details seen in the tweet, and Ola has yet to reveal more information about it.
The addition of ADAS would enhance the overall riding experience and the safety net of the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter. It’s currently in its testing phase and once done, the form integration too will need attention since the test setup is placed on the mirror mount.
