Simple Energy has announced the launch of its first electric scooter, the Simple One, in the Indian market. This scooter is available in a single variant and has been priced at Rs. 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Further, buyers can opt for the optional fast charger by paying an extra Rs. 13,000.
While this product from Simple Energy will be available in the first phase, the company plans to expand into other cities in the coming months. Matter Aera Electric Motorcycle (Rs. 1,53,999)
Electric motorcycle brand, Matter, has launched its first product, the Aera, in India with prices starting from Rs. 1.43 lakh. The company has announced four variants of this electric motorcycle – Aera 4000, Aera 5000, Aera 5000+, and Aera 6000+. However, the company has only released the details and prices for the Aera 5000 series. The Matter Aera 5000 range, which comprises two variants, is powered by a 10kW motor that works with a liquid-cooled 5kWh battery. The maximum claimed range stands at 125km, and charging time is rated at five hours using a regular charger setup. Notably, the feature list on this electric motorcycle comprises an LED headlight, a TFT console smartphone connectivity, and ride modes.
Honda CB200X (Rs. 1,48,845)
The Honda CB200X is based on the Hornet 2.0 roadster, and it benefits from additional equipment to improve its touring capabilities. These include semi-fairing, a fly-screen, and knuckle guards. It uses the same 184cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as the Hornet. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, this motor produces 17.03bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.1Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The feature list on the CB200X comprises full-LED lighting, a fully-digital instrument cluster, and a single-channel ABS.
Aprilia SXR 160 (Rs. 1,43,985)
The Aprilia SXR 160 is a maxi-scooter-style product from the Italian manufacturer. This product rivals the likes of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and uses a 160cc, single-cylinder, three-valve, air-cooled engine that churns out 10.84bhp of power at 7,600rpm and 11.6Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. Vespa VXL 150 (Rs. 1,43,966)
The retro-style Vespa VXL 150 is available in the same price range as the new Simple One electric scooter. This scooter uses a 149.5cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that produces 10.32bhp at 7,600rpm and 10.60Nm at 5,500rpm. The feature list comprises an LED headlight, single-channel ABS, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Yamaha Aerox 155 (Rs. 1,42,800)
Yamaha Motor India’s most premium scooter is available at Rs. 1,42,800. This scooter is equipped with a performance-packed 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation (VVA) technology. This motor delivers a maximum output of 14.8bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 13.9Nm at 6,500rpm. The premium feature list comprises a twin-pod LED headlight, split-style footboard, step-up seat, large 24.5-litre under-seat storage, front pocket with optional USB charger, external fuel lid, and body-coloured alloy wheels. It also features a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, multifunction key, automatic start and stop system, side-stand engine cut-off function, and single-channel ABS.
