- Spotted testing around the official launch
- To debut on 18 June
- Will probably pack a petrol tank along with the CNG setup
As Bajaj prepares to debut its first-ever CNG motorcycle next month, we have come across new spy shots of the same. The upcoming Bajaj CNG bike appears to be in the last stages of testing and here is what we know about it so far.
Although heavily camouflaged, the test bike appears closer to its production stage. The bodywork looks neater and now gives a better idea of what the design could look like. As expected, the CNG bike seems to have a simple structure with a purposeful build. It could get a round LED headlight, a braced tubular handlebar with guards, a decently large fuel tank cladding, a spacious seat, and a single-piece grab rail. We can also see an LED tail light with this bike.
We also learnt from the previously leaked blueprints that the Bajaj CNG bike will have a primary petrol tank placed right above the CNG cylinder’s nozzle. Speaking of the CNG setup, the images also revealed braces welded towards the tail and mid-section of the chassis to support the compressed gas cylinder. The motive here is to offer a high range at a low cost of running by using two different types of fuels.
On the hardware front, we can see telescopic front forks, a monoshock, a single front disc with a rear drum brake setup, and probable 17-inch alloy wheels. The engine capacity for the Bajaj CNG bike is yet to be known but it is likely to be between 110-125cc.
The official launch of the Bajaj CNG bike is slated for 18 June, which is less than a month from now. It will be interesting to see how the CNG refuelling setup for two-wheelers will evolve in the coming months.
