The Yamaha R25 has been spotted testing around Indonesia once again. This is the first time the front cowl of the eagerly anticipated motorcycle has been photographed. By the looks of it, Yamaha has not strayed away from the R25 concept’s styling and the front fairing is very similar to the concept.
Previous spy shots had shown us that the tail lamp of the motorcycle will be similar to that of the R15 v2.0 and it has now been revealed that they will incorporate LED units. The spy shots also show us a new design for the alloy wheels and a big disc at the front. The instrument panel of the R25 has also been rendered and shows a traditional analogue tachometer coupled with digital cluster.
As the name indicates, the R25 will be powered by an all-new 250cc twin-cylinder fuel-injected engine, mated to a six-speed gearbox. Unlike the R15, which uses a deltabox chassis, the R25 will use a tubular diamond frame, while the front suspension is a beefier telescopic unit.
The R25 was unveiled in India at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and is expected to be launched here by the middle of this year. The R15 created a frenzy when it was launched in India and we expect a similar response for the R25, though being a twin-cylinder motorcycle, the price is expected to be on the higher side.
