The Access 125 from Suzuki was always known to be a value for money scooter. Not because it was priced as close to the Honda Activa 3G, but because of its features and Suzuki's reliability. However, over the last couple of months, the sales of the scooter decreased and that’s when Suzuki decided to replace the Access with a new one. The Japanese manufacturer unveiled the new Access 125 at the 2016 Auto Expo and we bring you a detailed picture gallery.
The new Access has been built from ground up. It gets a new chassis, new engine with Suzuki’s Eco Performance technology and a new design.
The overall design is quite different from the other scooters in the segment and we quite liked that. This will help the new Access stand out from the crowded scooter segment.
The fascia gets a modern retro overhaul with a new headlamp unit and long turn indicators. The chrome around the headlamp makes the scooter very appealing.
The modern retro theme is also carried over to the tail section. The turn indicators are integrated into the brake lamp assembly. Lot of chrome is seen here as well.
This new 125cc engine produces more power at 8.5bhp and 10.2Nm of peak torque. There is no change in the CVT transmission.
Suzuki has equipped the new Access with disc brakes instead of the 120mm drum brakes from the previous model.
The new Access will be sold alongside the old one for a couple of months. In terms of pricing, expect Suzuki to increase the price by Rs 2,000-Rs 3,000 for the new Access.
