Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the new Gixxer 250 in India. The motorcycle is a naked version of the fully-faired Gixxer SF 250 which was launched in the month of May. After the introduction of the SF model, the arrival of this version was imminent. Now that it’s finally here, let’s take a closer look at the bike through this image gallery.
The motorcycle boasts of Suzuki’s modern design language with sharp and angular lines all over its bodywork, which is similar to its smaller sibling, the Gixxer.
Starting up front, the Gixxer 250 features a distinctively-styled, diamond-shaped headlamp setup which integrates full-LED lighting.
The sleek and upswept tail section of the bike houses a compact LED tail lamp which is inspired by the bigger GSX-S750. It also gets body-coloured, split grab rail for the pillion.
All the information is displayed on a blue-backlit, fully-digital LCD instrument cluster which shows all the necessary data and is flanked by tell-tale lights on both sides.
The engine of the Gixxer 250 gets bronze-finished cam cover which distinguishes the bike from its 155cc sibling. This mill is a 249cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder, SOHC unit which produces 26.1bhp and 22.6Nm.
Similar to the engine, the Gixxer 250 also shares its cycle parts with the fully-faired SF 250. It is underpinned by a downtube chassis which is suspended by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels while anchors are dropped using single disc at both ends which are assisted by dual-channel ABS as standard.
Suzuki has launched the Gixxer 250 in two colour options; one with a black fuel tank, silver extension and rear panel while the other gets an all-black paint job.
Pegged at Rs 1.60 lakhs (ex-showroom), the naked streetbike goes up against the KTM 200 Duke which is priced at Rs 1.62 lakhs in India.
