- Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF BS6 models launched in India
- Priced at Rs 1,11,871 and Rs 1,21,871, respectively
- Remain unchanged in all aspects, except for the engine
Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the BS6-compliant versions of its 155cc motorcycles, the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF, after showcasing them at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. Both bikes have witnessed a considerable price hike of around Rs 12,000 over their BS4 counterparts. While the naked Gixxer has been priced at Rs 1,11,871, its fully-faired SF version costs Rs 1,21,871 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
Both bikes continue to be powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor. However, the engine has been revised in accordance with BS6 regulations which has resulted in a drop in their power figures. At 13.4bhp and 13.8Nm, the performance numbers have gone down by 1.2bhp and 0.2Nm. Transmission duties continue to be handled by a five-speed gearbox.
The Gixxer and Gixxer SF had received a major design makeover last year due to which they have remained cosmetically unchanged with the BS6 update. Both bikes come equipped with LED headlamp and tail lamp, fully-digital instrument cluster and a dual-muffler exhaust canister. As for the hardware, suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is taken care of by disc brake at both ends with single-channel ABS.
Suzuki has launched the naked Gixxer in three colour options including Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Sonic Silver/Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue/ Glass Sparkle Black. Meanwhile, the fully-faired SF model is available in Metallic Sonic Silver/Glass Sparkle Black and Glass Sparkle Black paint schemes.
