A new KTM 1190 Adventure has been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. This newest member of the 1190 range will be a touring oriented model and will feature the brand’s new styling philosophy and technological updates for the V-twin powertrain to make it Euro IV compliant.
This new 1190 Adventure conforms to KTM's new design philosophy with its new fairing and split LED lights. It ditches the current 1190 Adventure's spoke wheels in favour of road-focussed alloy wheels, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear, borrowed from the KTM 1050 Adventure. The adjustable windscreen is taller than the previous model, while the air intakes have been repositioned to improve ventilation. All these updates hint at a touring-focussed approach. Reports suggest that KTM is also planning to introduce colour TFT screen for the instrument console. Under the skin, we can expect this model to retain the 1195cc V-twin engine, with updates to make it Euro IV compliant.
With Euro IV regulations coming into force by January 1, 2017, several manufacturers have either upgraded their models or discontinued them altogether. Besides the 1190 Adventure, KTM will also be updating the rest of its range to meet the Euro IV norms. The range is expected to debut at the 2016 INTERMOT motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany, in October.
