- New Triumph Bobber spied with a set of Ohlins and Brembo M50 Monobloc calipers
- Gets clip-on bars positioned below the top yoke
- Sported a pair of performance-oriented Arrow exhausts
- Could be a higher-spec ‘Bobber R’ version producing slightly more power
Triumph Motorcycles has been spotted testing the next-generation Bobber in Spain. The British bike maker seems to be working on improving the handling characteristics of the motorcycle as the test mule featured new suspension and braking components.
The spied test bike was equipped with fully-adjustable Ohlins inverted forks at the front which were accompanied by twin discs with top of the line Brembo M50 Monobloc calipers. The triple-three also seem to be part of the design update since they had to be adapted in accordance with the inverted forks. Besides that, while the current Bobber features a single-piece flat handlebar, the spied motorcycle was equipped with clip-on bars that were mounted below the top triple clamp. With these upgrades, expect the new Bobber to offer sharper handling characteristics and a strong bite in terms of braking. At the rear, since the monoshock is hidden due to its bike’s bobber styling, Triumph is likely to have installed an Ohlins unit in order to match the front forks. As far as the rear brake is concerned, it continues to be the same.
It’s hard to tell if the motor has undergone any change as the unit is not very discernible in the set of spy shots that we have. However, the bike did sport a pair of arrow exhausts. In summation, the premium suspension and braking parts as well as the performance-spec exhaust canisters suggest that Triumph is, perhaps, looking to introduce a ‘Bobber R’ variant with a slight bump in power.
Lastly, the test mule also seems to be near production-ready suggesting that a product unveiling may be on the cards at the upcoming EICMA show in Milan in November.
