Triumph India will launch the new Bonneville T100 for the Indian market tomorrow. This new motorcycle was unveiled to the world just two weeks ago at the 2016 Intermot show, Germany.
Before the Street Twin was launched, the Bonneville T100 was the highest selling Triumph motorcycle in India. The British manufacturer discontinued the Bonneville T100 as soon as its bigger siblings in the T120 range were launched in India. However, with the updated T100, Triumph is expecting to garner additional market share and sales. Once the T100 is launched, the company will have three major modern classic brand names in the country, which will directly help them increase their brand base.
The new Bonneville T100 is powered by the same 900cc parallel-twin liquid cooled engine that we see on the Street Twin. But it gets the frame from the Bonneville T120. This mill generates 54bhp and peak torque of 80Nm. This modern classic motorcycle is loaded with features like ABS, switchable traction control, ride-by-wire throttle, USB charging, LED tail light and engine immobiliser.
In order to keep the pricing competitive, the British manufacturer will assemble the new Bonneville T100 at their Haryana facility. We’re expecting a price tag of close to Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for this new Triumph. For the global market, Triumph is offering 150 customisation options and we believe some of them will come to India as well.
