- New Triumph Daytona 765 Moto2 spied
- Will feature top-spec cycle parts
- Engine has been derived from Moto2 bikes
Following the teaser image released by Triumph, the new Daytona 765 Moto2 has been spied during road tests. The company will be officially unveiling the motorcycle on 23 August during the British GP at Silverstone followed by its launch in the international market in March 2020.
The new Daytona 765 was spied with a box mounted on its tail for carrying the testing equipment with wires exiting from it. The exhaust canister on the test mule was a temporary unit that was slipped onto the exit side of the large catalytic converter located beneath the engine. The test bike was equipped with Ohlins inverted forks along with Brembo brakes which are expected to feature on the limited edition Moto2 variant.
The motor on the new Daytona 765 has been derived directly from the Moto2 bikes. The company will be initially introducing the limited edition model with a limited production run of only 765 units. There will be two separate models, one for Europe and Asian markets and the other for the US and Canadian markets. The bike will be offered with a unique paint scheme similar to the Moto2 development prototypes. While Triumph hasn’t yet unveiled the specs of the motor, it is expected to be around the ballpark of 130-135bhp making it the most powerful Daytona model till date.
Following the official unveiling at the British GP, Triumph is likely to showcase the motorcycle at the upcoming 2019 EICMA show in Milan. Once launched, expect Triumph to allot few units for India.
