The Triumph Daytona can be easily considered as one of the most preferred motorcycles in the middle-weight segment. Ever since the motorcycle was discontinued due to Euro IV norms, its successor has been highly awaited. Now, that wait will soon come to an end as the British bike maker has confirmed that the all-new Daytona 765 will hit the market in March 2020.
The main highlight of this motorcycle is undoubtedly its motor. Derived from the Street Triple RS wherein it registers 121bhp, the three-cylinder mill has been further developed extensively for use in Moto2 championship. The power output has been bumped up to 138bhp thus suggesting that the new Daytona 765 will offer around 130-135bhp. With this power output, the Daytona 765 will be the most powerful version in the Daytona series till date. In addition to that, the motor will be offered with five riding modes (including a track mode), bi-directional quickshifter and a titanium Arrow exhaust. Besides that, the middle-weight supersport will feature a new TFT instrument console that will come with an official Moto2 start-up welcome screen.
In terms of production, Triumph will initially introduce the Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition which will be later followed by the standard model. The motorcycle will be available in two versions, one for Europe and Asian market while the other for the US and Canadian market. To maintain the exclusivity of the motorcycle, Triumph will manufacture only 765 units of the Daytona Moto2 765. The motorcycle will come finished in monochrome Union Jack colour scheme that was used for the Moto2 development test mules. In addition to that, each unit of the limited edition model will feature a billet aluminium top clamp of the triple-three with a laser-etched engraving bearing its production number.
For cycle parts, expect the Daytona Moto2 765 to feature top-spec components in the form of Brembo brakes and Ohlins suspensions. The setup is further expected to be accompanied by a six-axis IMU offering multiple setting for traction control and cornering ABS.
The Daytona Moto2 765 limited edition will be unveiled at the upcoming MotoGP British GP at Silverstone in August which will be followed by its launch in the European and Western market in March 2020. The motorcycle is also expected to make its presence at the upcoming 2019 EICMA show in Milan. Triumph is likely to allot few units for India, which will, in all probability, get sold out in no time.
