The Triumph Rocket 3 R was unveiled at the 2019 EICMA and recently launched in India. It gets a complete overhaul in terms of styling, engine and technology. Here we tell you the top five highlights of the new Rocket 3 R.
New styling
The new Rocket 3 R has the same commanding road presence of its previous counterpart. It gets the chunky tyres, long tank and twin headlamps which are now full-LED. Apart from this, Triumph has also changed the entire character of the motorcycle. While the earlier model was a laid-back cruiser, the Rocket 3 is more of a power-cruiser. The motorcycle offers an upright riding positon thanks to the straight handlebar and neutral set footpegs. In terms of styling, it features a cropped rear fender along with twin slash-cut exhausts that show off the rear wheel that is mounted on a single-sided swingarm.
Largest engine in a production motorcycle
The Rocket 3 R boast of being powered by the world’s largest engine in a production motorcycle. This inline-three cylinder motor has a displacement of 2500cc and is capable of churning out 165bhp and a mind-boggling 221Nm of torque.
Added technology
Triumph has equipped the new Rocket 3’s electronics suite with a host of rider aids like traction control system, cornering ABS, hill-hold control and four ride modes. It also sports a full-colour TFT display that has Bluetooth connectivity.
Colour options
The Rocket 3 is available in two colour options of ‘Korosi Red’ and ‘Phantom Black’. Both colour schemes come with brushed aluminum parts that accentuate the motorcycle’s appeal.
Pricing
Triumph has pegged the new Rocket 3 at Rs 18 lakhs (ex-showroom). This pricing makes it nearly Rs 4 lakhs more affordable than the previous model which retailed at around Rs 22 lakhs. In terms of competition, the new Rocket 3’s biggest rival is the Ducati Diavel 1260.
