Triumph Motorcycles India has announced the launch of the new Speed 400 in our market to rival the likes of the Harley-Davidson X440 and Royal Enfield Classic 350. This new retro-style motorcycle is available in a single variant and three colour options in India. The paint themes comprise Carnival Red with Phantom Black, Caspian Blue with Storm Grey, and Phantom Black with Storm Grey options.
All three colour options feature a dual-tone finish and get identical graphics. These include a Triumph badge and a grey stripe on the fuel tank. Then, the side panel gets a 3D ‘Speed 400’ logo. Meanwhile, the styling cues across all colour themes comprise a retro design, including a round headlight, bar-end mirrors, a tear-drop-shaped fuel tank with an asymmetrically-mounted filler cap, a single-piece seat, and 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends.
The mechanical specifications on this entry-level Triumph Motorcycles’ product include a 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a maximum output of 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm. The six-speed gearbox benefits from a slipper and assist clutch mechanism. The motorcycle boasts a segment-leading 16,000km service interval.
Notably, all colour options are available at the same price tag of Rs. 2.33 lakh. However, the company offered the first 10,000 units of this motorcycle at a discounted price tag of Rs. 2.23 lakh. As reported earlier, those initial 10,000 units of the new Triumph Speed 400 have been pre-booked already.
