- New Speed Triple 1200RS gets clip-on handlebar
- Equipped with electronic suspension
- Could sit above RS model
Triumph Motorcycles is planning to develop a racier version of the Speed Triple 1200RS. A prototype of this motorcycle was spotted testing around its R&D facility.
From the spy shots, it is clear that the upcoming Speed Triple 1200 will get a sportier seating triangle. The handlebar is now clip-on and as a result of that, the rider could be seen sitting a bit more aggressive than usual. However, the position of the foot pegs has been carried forward from the current model.
The test mule was also seen with wires protruding from the front and rear springs. This makes us believe that the bike would sport electronic suspension as standard. The damping settings could be controlled using various buttons on the switchgear. A steering damper can also be spotted under the headlight unit.
With these new additions, it is clear that the British brand is looking to introduce a top-of-the-line model. Currently, the Speed Triple 1200 RS is sold in many countries, including India. But it looks like there’s a market for a more expensive and feature-rich variant in the line-up.
