- Triumph Speed Twin India launch on 31 August, 2021
- Euro5 model makes 98.6bhp and 112Nm
- Gets updates to the suspension and braking setup
Triumph Motorcycles India will update its portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Speed Twin on 31 August, 2021. The latest iteration of the motorcycle receives mechanical revisions to comply with the newer, more stringent emission norms.
The Euro5-compliant 1,200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine makes 98.6bhp of maximum power at 7,250rpm and 112Nm of peak torque at 4,250rpm. In comparison, the old model made 96bhp of maximum power and 112Nm of peak torque at 4,950rpm.
More changes were made to the hardware of the motorcycle and the 2021 Speed Twin gets 43mm Marzocchi upside-down front forks instead of conventional units on the old model. The shock absorption setup at the back is handled by preload-adjustable twin-sided springs. The anchoring tasks are handled by twin discs with Brembo M50 callipers at the front and a single rotor with a Nissin-sourced calliper at the rear.
The styling cues have not received a major makeover, although the new model gets new anodised headlight mounts, new mudguard mounts, 12-spoke alloy wheels, and new graphics. Internationally, the new Speed Twin is available in three colours – Red Hopper, Matte Storm Grey, and Jet Black. We expect to see all the paint options in the Indian market as well.
