- New Triumph Speed Twin to be launched in India soon
- To be available in three colours
- Will get updated hardware and new features
Triumph Motorcycles has listed the new Speed Twin on its India website, thus hinting at an imminent launch. Apart from the prices, all the details about the India-spec Speed Twin are available on the company’s India website. The motorcycle will be sold in a single variant and three colour options in the country. The paint options include Jet Black, Red Hopper, and Matte Storm Grey. We expect the Jet Black paint to carry a marginally lower price tag than the Red Hopper and Matte Storm Grey colours.
The mechanical specifications are similar to the international-spec model. Thus, the India-spec Triumph Speed Twin will use a 1,200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that will deliver 98.6bhp at 7,250rpm and 112Nm of peak torque at 4,250rpm. The engine will be linked to a six-speed gearbox. The company claims a fuel economy of 5.1-litre/100km or 19.60kmpl.
Apart from mechanical upgrades to comply with the newest emission norms, the motorcycle also gets better hardware such as 43mm Marzocchi upside-down front forks and Brembo M50 callipers. Styling updates include new graphics, anodised headlight mounts, new mudguard mounts, and 12-spoke alloy wheels. Check out the complete details about the new Triumph Speed Twin here.
Triumph Motorcycles may introduce the 2021 model in a similar price range as the discontinued version. The BS4 version, for reference, was available at Rs 9.46 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
