Triumph Motorcycles has announced the launch of the new Street Scrambler Sandstorm edition in the Indian market. The new Street Scrambler Sandstorm, which will be limited to just 775 units worldwide, has been launched in India at Rs 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The motorcycle is inspired by the original 1960’s Triumph Scrambler desert racers.
The new Triumph Street Scrambler Sandstorm edition, which is based on the standard Street Scrambler, packs styling upgrades such as a brushed alloy sump guard, a high front mudguard, and a new headlight bezel with a black grille. The feature list also includes a tall-set exhaust setup and split-style seats. This limited-edition model will be available in a single paint option – Sandstorm Matte Storm Grey paint.
The Mechanical specifications are similar to the standard Street Scrambler. The BS6-compliant 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine produces 64.1bhp of power at 7,250rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 3,250rpm. The motor is linked to a five-speed transmission.
The hardware on the motorcycle includes 41mm telescopic front forks and twin-sided rear springs to perform the suspension duties. The braking setup includes a single 310mm disc at the front and a 255mm rotor at the back while the safety net is provided by a dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle rides on 19-inch front/17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels.
