- New Street Triple S unveiled in Europe
- Gets cosmetic, mechanical and electronic updates
- To be launched in India sometime soon
Triumph has unveiled the 2020 Street Triple S in Europe. The base model in the Street Triple range comes with cosmetic, mechanical and electronic changes as part the 2020 update.
To begin with, the new Street Triple S is now visually similar to the top-spec RS model and gets LED headlamps with LED DRLs, new side panels, redesigned fly screen and a sleeker rear section. It is also offered in a new paint scheme with updated graphics. Although the Street Triple S sits at the bottom end of the range, it comes equipped with top-quality components like Brembo brakes up front and suspension sourced from Showa at both ends. Furthermore, the motorcycle’s electronics package includes two riding modes- Road and Rain which modulate traction control and throttle response.
As for its engine, the Street Triple S comes powered by a Euro 5 compliant, 765cc, inline-three cylinder motor that is likely to churn out the same amount of power as the outgoing model at 111bhp and 73Nm. On the other hand, Europe also gets a 660cc model which churns out 47bhp and 60Nm on the A2 restricted model and 95bhp and 66Nm on the derestricted version.
Triumph is likely to launch the new top-spec Street Triple RS in India sometime this month. And we can expect the manufacturer to introduce the Street Triple S in the country in the coming months. It will go up against the Ducati Monster 797, KTM 790 Duke and Yamaha MT-09 in India.
