- Triumph to reveal pricing for Tiger 1200 tomorrow
- Will be offered in four variants
- Is likely to be priced from Rs 18 lakh
Triumph Motorcycles India is all set to launch the new Tiger 1200 in India tomorrow, 24 May. The company has already revealed the specs and details of their top-of-the-line adventure tourer while commencing bookings in the country.
The Tiger 1200, which will go up against the Ducati Multistrada V4 and BMW R1250 GS, is expected to come with a pricing that starts at around Rs 18 lakh, ex-showroom. And it will be available in a choice of four variants- GT Pro, Gt Explorer, Rally Pro and Rally Explorer. Now, all variants are powered by the same Euro5-compliant 1,160cc, inline-three cylinder engine that churns out 148bhp and 130Nm. All that power is sent to the rear wheel via a shaft drive system.
That said, Triumph has kitted the Tiger 1200 with a boatload of features and electronic aids like power and ride modes, cruise control, traction control, ABS and a TFT display as standard. To give you a brief on what’s different between the new Tiger 1200 variants, the GT is a road-biased version that rides on a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear alloy wheels with shorter suspension travel than the Rally variant. Speaking of which, the Rally gets off-road worthiness with longer travel suspension and a combination of 21/18-inch cross spoke wheels. On the other hand, the Explorer variants are equipped with a massive 30-litre fuel tank and rear radar system.
