- New Tiger 850 Sport teased
- Road focused motorcycle
- Gets engine from Tiger 900
Triumph Motorcycles is gearing up to expand its famous Tiger line-up. The company has released a few teaser pictures of soon-to-be-unveiled Tiger 850 Sport. This new Tiger 850 Sport will be unveiled to the world on 17 November and will be sold alongside the Tiger 900 range. However, the product positioning of this new bike will be different. The Tiger 850 Sport is a road motorcycle and won’t have anything to do with off-road credentials.
According to the leaked specs, the Tiger 850 Sport will get its power from the engine that powers the Tiger 900. So the 887cc engine will churn out 94bhp at 8750rpm on the Tiger 850 Sport as well. In fact, the overall chassis and features are also similar to that of the 900 cousin. The only difference here will be the name and maybe in some features.
The Tiger 850 Sport will go against the BMW F900XR and the Yamaha Tracer 900. This new bike is likely to make its presence felt in India next year as the F900XR has received decent response in the country.
