- Tiger Sport 660 is the most affordable Tiger model in India
- Rivals Kawasaki Versys 650 and Suzuki V-Storm 650 XT
- Priced at Rs 8.95 lakh(ex-showroom, India)
Triumph Motorcycles has updated its Indian portfolio with the launch of the new Tiger Sport 660 adventure tourer at Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This new model from the British marquee is the most affordable Tiger model worldwide. The new Tiger Sport 660 replaces the Tiger Sport 850 as the entry-level product in the company’s adventure tourer portfolio.
This new model is based on the Trident 660 roadster that is already available on sale in India. The Tiger Sport 660, however, gets a different sub-frame and a longer travel suspension setup as compared to the Trident 660. The styling cues, too, are different from the Trident 660, and the Tiger Sport 660 uses a semi-fairing and tall windscreen, and integrated pannier mounts. The feature list, similar to the Trident 660, includes full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, two riding modes (road and rain), switchable traction control, and ABS. The company will offer over 40 accessories for the motorcycle.
The mechanical specifications include a 660cc, inline-three cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. Linked to a six-speed transmission, the engine delivers 80bhp at 10,250rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. The new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 rivals the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Storm 650XT in the Indian market.
