- BS6 Apache RTR 160 4V, 200 4V gets expensive
- Price hiked by Rs 1000
TVS has hiked the price of one of its early BS6 launches, the RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 4V. Both the bikes will get costlier by Rs 1000.
The 160cc BS6 Apache was launched at Rs 99,950 (rear drum) and Rs 1.03 lakhs (rear disc) last year, but now with the price increase, this TVS has an ex-showroom price of Rs 1,00,950 and Rs 1,04,000 respectively. The Apache RTR 200 which was earlier priced at Rs 1.24 lakhs, now retails at Rs 1.25 lakhs.
The increase of price could be a result of price correction. Most of the companies including TVS are playing safe while pricing their BS6 motorcycles and scooters. The prices of two-wheelers have increased quite a lot in the last 18 months, blame the increase in insurance cost and the addition of ABS/CBS. Plus, the overall industry isn’t growing.
In this case, TVS might have found some room to increase the price of these bikes to boost its profitability. We are expecting the Hosur-based company to follow the same process for its most of the other BS6 bikes and it will be the same story with other two-wheeler makers.
