- TVS launches new Apache RTR 200 4V
- It gets additional features like three riding modes
- Comes in a new colour inspired by TVS’ race bikes
TVS Motor Company recently achieved four million global sales milestone for its popular Apache series. To celebrate this achievement, the company has launched a new version of the Apache RTR 200 4V with additional features. The bike has been priced at Rs 1.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) which makes it around Rs 2,500 more expensive than the previous (dual-channel ABS) trim.
TVS has bestowed the new Apache RTR 200 4V with three riding modes which comes in as a segment-first feature. The modes include Urban, Rain and Sport which tweak the amount of ABS intervention, power delivery and throttle response, depending on the riding condition. The desired mode can be selected via a dedicated button on the switchgear. This version of the bike also comes equipped with Showa suspension with preload adjustability. Three-step adjustable clutch and brake levers are also a part of the package. What’s more, TVS has managed to shed one kilo off the bike’s overall kerb weight.
TVS has kept the new Apache RTR 200 4V unaltered in all other aspects. It continues to be powered by a 197.75cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine which churns out 20.21bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.8Nm at 7,500rpm. Its five-speed gearbox is accompanied by a slipper clutch, which is another unusual feature in this segment. TVS says the overall braking hardware of this new Apache has also been tweaked for better braking performance.
TVS has introduced the updated Apache RTR 200 4V in three colours including Gloss Black, Pearl White and the new Matte Blue which is inspired by TVS’ One Make Race bikes. In terms of displacement and purpose, the motorcycle goes up against the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the Honda Hornet 2.0.
