- Gets a host of connected features
- New display shows social media and other app alerts
- Rs. 6,200 more expensive than the former top-end variant
TVS Motor Company has launched the new SmartXonnect variant of the Jupiter 125 in India. It is priced at Rs. 96,855 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it Rs. 6,200 more expensive than the former top-end variant with disc brake and alloy wheels.
TVS’ SmartXonnect technology has brought in a host of connectivity features in the Jupiter 125. The new coloured hybrid console with a TFT screen connects with the rider’s smartphone and gives access to call and message notifications, turn-by-turn navigation, and voice-assisted features. Moreover, the new TFT screen shows alerts from social media platforms and food/shopping apps. What’s more, the rider can check weather updates, real-time sports scores, and news updates on the new screen.
Besides the new connected features, TVS has equipped the scooter with two new safety features – follow-me headlamp and hazard lights. The former keeps the headlamp illuminated for 20 seconds after the engine is turned off. Furthermore, TVS has introduced two new colours for the SmartXonnect variant, namely, Elegant Red and Matte Copper Bronze.
In all other areas, the Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect remains identical to other variants of the scooter. It continues to be powered by a 124.8cc engine that comes mated to a CVT transmission system and produces 8.04bhp and 10.5Nm. Tipping the scales at 108kg, the Jupiter 125 rides on 12-inch alloy wheels (steel wheels available as an option) that are suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. The braking is handled by a disc-drum combination while a dual drum brake variant is also available. Notably, a 33-litre under-seat space and a fuel filler located at the front are some of the USPs of the Jupiter 125.
