TVS recently launched the new Jupiter Grande in the Indian market with cosmetic and segment-first features. Here we tell you the five major updates the scooter has received.
Cosmetic changes
The new Jupiter Grande has the same design as the other variants. However, to distinguish itself from the pack, the scooter sports a few visual changes. To begin with, it gets neatly-finished chrome highlights on the rear-view mirrors and a maroon coloured seat with a cross-stitch pattern for a premium appeal. It also comes with a beige coloured inner apron, floorboard and mid-section to complete the look.
New colour
Apart from the cosmetic additions, TVS has adorned the new Jupiter Grande with a refreshed light blue colour option which is called ‘Tech Blue’. Currently, the scooter is available only in this one colour and is unlikely to get more options anytime soon.
Updated instrument cluster
The most noteworthy upgrade, however, comes in the form of the new instrument cluster. The unit can now be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth and operated through a dedicated app. It displays call and text alerts, trip reports and even alerts the rider for over-speeding. The digital unit also shows the odometer, fuel gauge and clock.
Engine and mechanicals
The new Jupiter Grande is underpinned with the same 109cc engine as the other Jupiter variants. This motor produces 7.8bhp of power and 8Nm of torque. It rides on 12-inch wheels on both ends suspended by telescopic forks upfront and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking duties are done by a disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear along with SBT; TVS’s version of the Combined Braking System.
Pricing
The new Jupiter Grande is now the top-of-the-line variant in the Jupiter range. Priced at Rs 62,346 (ex-showroom, Delhi) it demands a premium of Rs 2,446 over the Jupiter Classic SBT and Jupiter ZX Disc SBT.
