- Launch event to take place on Metaverse
- Connected trim to get first-in-class features
- Mechanical aspects to remain unchanged
TVS Motor Company is all set to launch the new feature-loaded Connected variant of its 125cc sporty commuter, the Raider 125, tomorrow, 19 October 2022. Interestingly, it will be introduced on Metaverse via TVS’ MOTOVERSE platform which should appeal to the younger audience.
Connected will be the top-end variant of the Raider 125 with a couple of first-in-class features. As TVS had promised during the launch of the bike, the bike will get a five-inch TFT console which is usually seen in much higher-end motorcycles. It will also get Bluetooth connectivity which will facilitate turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, message notifications, and music control.
For a 125cc offering, even the existing variants of the Raider 125 are pretty contemporary with features like two riding modes (Eco and Power), mileage indicator, and low battery and service reminders. It is also adorned with a sporty and radical bodywork comprising a robotic-style headlamp, a sculpted fuel tank with sharp extensions, and a sleek tail section.
Powering the Raider 125 is a 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve engine which is linked to a five-speed gearbox and produces 11.2bhp at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The hardware package includes 17-inch alloy wheels, telescopic forks, a monoshock, a petal-type disc up front and a drum brake at the rear. With a 10-litre fuel tank, it boasts a kerb weight of 123kg.
The existing disc brake variant of the TVS Raider 125 is pegged at Rs 93,489 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Connected variant will certainly demand a considerable premium over this pricing.
