TVS Motor Company has announced that it will launch a new product in the Indian market via its Motoverse platform. While the company did not reveal any details about this upcoming product in the email, it has updated the TVS Raider’s Instagram handle with teaser videos, thus hinting at the imminent launch of the Connected variant. This version of the 125cc motorcycle was announced at the launch of the Raider series in September 2021. Here we tell you what to expect from the upcoming TVS Raider Connected variant.
New Instrument Cluster
This variant of the TVS Raider will benefit from the company’s SmartXonnect Bluetooth module and voice assist function. With the connectivity module, the Connected variant of the Raider 125 will benefit from additional features such as navigation, incoming call alerts, and message notifications. Other information available on the display will include top speed recorder, fuel economy, and range among others.
Unchanged Design
The design will remain unaltered and the Connected variant will pack styling elements such as an LED headlight with integrated DRL, body-coloured headlight mask, body-coloured front fender, engine cowl, split-style seats, and a side-slung exhaust with dual-tone finish. The colour palette, too, should remain unaltered for the Connected variant, and it should be available in the existing paint options that include Striking Red, Blazing Blue, Wicked Black, and Fiery Yellow.
Same Specifications
The mechanical specifications will remain unaltered and the Connected version will share the 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve engine with the existing variants. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, the motor produces 11.2bhp at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motor is claimed to deliver a 0-60kmph acceleration time of 5.9 seconds while the top speed is rated at 99kmph. The suspension setup will retain telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. Meanwhile, the braking hardware will comprise a petal-type disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the back.
Features
Apart from the additional Bluetooth-module and voice assist function, the TVS Raider Connected variant will be similar to the existing versions. Thus, this new variant of the Raider 125 range will use an LED headlight, LED taillight, conventional turn indicators, combined braking system, two riding modes (Eco and Power), and an Idle Stop Start system.
Expected Price
The Connected variant will top the Raider 125 range and thus retail at a premium price tag over the existing versions. We expect this variant to arrive close to the Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom) price tag. Once launched, the Raider 125 Connected variant will compete against the Hero Glamour X-Tec and Honda SP125 in the Indian market.
